SIMON WHITE
DIRECTOR
Simon White was born in Dunfermline, and brought up in Bridge of Weir, to the west of Glasgow. He was at school in Edinburgh and at Glenalmond in Perth. After a gap year in New Zealand, Simon arrived in Edinburgh to go to university in 1976, where he attained his BA (Hons) in economics.
In 2016 Simon had a hip replacement, which has allowed him to continue to play racquet sports every week. In addition he regularly cycles, mostly in Edinburgh, although has done cycling trips to Spain, Portugal and Ireland in recent years. Closer to home, he is still on a mission to climb all the Munros (the 282 mountains in Scotland over 3,000 feet). At the last count there were 38 outstanding. Frustratingly (although not surprisingly) all of Simon's unclimbed mountains are located in the most remote parts of Scotland!
Ever one for stability, Simon has had the same (first!) wife for 37 years, lived in the same house for 35 years and has always worked in the west end of Edinburgh. Simon's wife, Mary, taught languages at Linlithgow Academy for 35 years prior to combining her love of languages and Scotland by working as a Blue Badge tourist guide. Simon designs Whites Financial Management's Christmas card and Mary is the muse who composes the topical poetry each year.
